Join us for our monthly meeting.  Beginning at 10:30 a.m. we will have a webinar CE course entitled Securing Your Retirement – Transforming Social Security Into a Winning Retirement Strategy.

This program covers the roles of Social Security benefits can & should play in a clients overall retirement income plan and qualifies for 1 hour of General credit.

Next, we will have Oklahoma County Sherrif Tommie Johnson, III as our keynote speaker. 

Sheriff Johnson assumed office on January 4, 2021.  His current term ends on January 2, 2015.  He is an Oklahoma City native and a decorated law enforcement professional and has a heart for kids.  Johnson serves as a youth sports coach and regularly volunteers for at-risk kids in local elementary schools where he tries to be a positive male influence in the lives of young boys.  That is why Johnson chose to be sworn in as Sheriff at his high school alma-mater.  To send the message that, with hard work, you can accomplish anything!

 

Our meeting will begin with a 1-hour CE Program entitled Long-Term Care:  The Future is Now, # 6000167140.  The program will discuss state mandated LTC plans, opportunities for planning; current costs & where they are going & an update on where states are in their planning process for an aging population.

Keynote Speaker, Emma Alexander, Field Representative for Congressman Frank Lucas.  Emma is a native of Collinsville, Oklahoma, graduated from Oklahoma State University in December of 2020 and recently served as a Staff Assistant for the Office of Governor Kevin Stitt.  

Emma represents Congressman Lucas at meetings and events throughout the 3rd District and serves Cimmaron, Texas, Beaver, Harper, Ellis, Roger Mills, Beckham, Greer, Harmon, Jackson, Logan, Lincoln, Payne, Noble, Pawnee, Creek and Osage Counties.

At 10:30 a.m., we will hold a previously recorded webinar entitled “Retirement  Planning Challenges for Women,              # 6000076691”.  This program is approved for 1 hour of General CE credit.  Tom Hegna will discuss how retirement has changed for women, longevity risk, benefits of risk pooling, key retirement risks for women, and how low interest rates affect life insurance policies for women and their spouses.
Then, we are very excited to have Estela Hernandez for our keynote speaker.  Estela Hernandez is the Oklahoma City Field Rep for Sen. James Lankford. She will take on the ‘hot – topic’ of the proposed  Department of Labor’s Fiduciary-Only Rule!

At 11:00 am, Ray Smith will begin our meeting with a CE presentation entitled “The psychology of investing, #6000103763”.
 
This course is approved for 1 hour of General CE credit and is a guide to help financial advisors recognize their client’s emotions in various investment situations and explains why those emotions can affect money.  It will discuss how the advisor can work to put their client in the best position to meet their financial goal.  

 

Next, we have invited John Newhouse, Senior Director of Gift Planning with the OSU Foundation to come back.  He will provide an overview of some of the recent changes in estate planning, so everyone is up to date.
